The course leader for this program is Richard Granat, Director of the Legal Technician Training Institute.

Richard  was previously President and Dean of the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training, the nation's first paralegal school, where he was responsible for educating and graduating more than 10,000 paralegals over a ten year period.  He is also the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Epoq US, Inc., the parent organization of MyLawyer.com, Inc. and DirectLaw, Inc.  Mr. Granat is presently Co-Chair of the ELawyering Task Force of the Law Practice Management Section and is a member of the Section Council of the American Bar Association and serves on the Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services of the ABA.  

Richard is the designer of the company's divorce and family lawyer products and maintains a virtual on-line web site at: http://www.mdfamilylawyer.com.

Richard is also a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bar and was, chair of the Law Practice Management Section of the Maryland Bar Association. Richard has been involved in developing innovative legal services delivery systems for over 30 years, first as part of the initial working group that created the National Legal Services Program, and then later as Director of the Center for Legal Studies at Antioch Law School in Washington, D.C., the nation's first clinical law school. Richard has taught at the University of Maryland School of Law, the District of Columbia School of Law, Rutgers School of Law of Law,  courses in Computers and the Law and Law Practice Management. Richard is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law (J.D.), the University of Pennsylvania (M.S. in Organizational Development) and Lehigh University (B.A.). Depending on the location, Mr. Granat is assisted by various staff members of Epoq US, Inc., involved in on-line document preparation services and attorneys with expertise in various of areas of personal law, including:

Gregor Weeks - Director of Technology.

Gregor is Chief Technology Officer for Epoq, US, Inc. He is a graduate of the University of Scranton and has completed his J.D. at the University of Maryland School of Law.  His critical role in our organization includes the development of our web-based applications and relational databases, as well as maintaining all online operations.  Gregor was previously an Intranet Administrator with Planning Systems, Inc. and Technical Assistant at the Office of Naval Research.

Lynette Mahaney - Director of Customer and Technical Support. Developer of the Name Change Product Line.

Lynette is Director of the Customer Care Center that supports our consumer legal information web sites and responsible for coordinating technical support to our DirectLaw distributors. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, has extensive paralegal experience and was previously employed with Kubovcik & Kubovcik, a Washington DC law firm specializing in patent and trademark law. Lynette is also the primariy developer of the company's name change product line.

Mendy Janke - Senior Document Automation Specialist and Developer of Business and HR Products.

Mendy manages the company's employment law web site at http://www.hrlawinfo.com.  Mendy is a graduate of the University of Maryland (Baltimore County) and the University of Baltimore School of Law.  In her previous positions, she served as both Project Manager and Applications Developer at The Technology Group, originally based in Baltimore, Maryland. Mendy is a member of the Maryland Bar.
